LA Angels' Ohtani Shohei has been excluded from the starting list for eight consecutive games. It has been a week since he was not on the injured list at all and said he would return in a day or two.

The MLB's official Major League website said on the 12th, "Otani was originally included in the starting lineup on the day. However, two and a half hours before the play ball, he felt pain again in the existing injured area. He has missed eight consecutive games,' he reported.

The Angels will play the Seattle Mariners at 10:40 a.m. at T-Mobile Park in Seattle. Otani is believed to have had a recurrence of pain during batting training before the game.

Otani disappeared from the game against the Baltimore Orioles on the 5th. I felt uncomfortable in my side during batting practice. Angels manager Phil Nevin said it was not a serious injury. 배트맨토토

Otani underwent a thorough examination the next day. According to MLB, only minor inflammation was found. Otani swung his bat to play in the game on the 7th, but the pain remained.

Otani finally started swinging again on the 8th. On the 9th, he even challenged more intensive training.

ESPN said, 'Otani swung the bat again on the 9th. However, he did not feel comfortable enough to show his full strength in the game. Nevin said Otani is hopeful of playing against the Seattle Mariners on the 12th, although he may not know about the match against Cleveland on the 11th.
The little hope was again in vain.

Otani is said to have a strong will to play. Coach Nevin said, "To be clear, Otani wants to go to the game right away. He wants to run. He said he wanted to play in the game, but I didn't let him."

Otani has booked the MVP of the American League this season. At bat, he recorded 44 home runs and 20 steals, OPS (on-base percentage + slugging percentage) 1.066. On the mound, he has a 3.14 ERA in 132 innings and 167 strikeouts. Based on the baseball reference, he is leading the Major League with a WAR (contribution to victory over substitute players) of 10.

However, Otani injured his elbow in August and is out of the season as a pitcher. He can't even lift his bat due to a side injury. Frequent injuries are bad news for him, who will become an FA after this season.
